PPPay (Person to Person Payment system) is provided by PPPay Ltd. (82 High Road, Byfleet, Surrey, KT14 7QW, UK), certified by the Financial Services Authority as a Small Electronic Money Issuer. PPPay allows to send and receive payments from anyone with a valid email address and debit or credit card in USD, GBP and EUR.

PPPay is mostly used for making payments from debit or credit cards like PayPal.

Accounts

There are Bronze, Silver and Gold accounts within PPPay. Bronze member can send and receive payments in USD, GBP and EUR immediately after registering. Once a payment has been made, she will need to validate the card by entering the amount on a bank statement. Once the correct amount has been entered she will become a Silver member and any pending sent payments will be released for the receiver to accept. Upgrading to Silver status requires a security fee. Gold members are members that require an higher than average purse limit. To obtain Gold status a member must provide additional identification documents and pay a 30GBP setup fee.

Interface

Account management (balance check, sending/receiving funds, changing profile, etc.) is available only through secure web interface. All sections of web site work correctly (no dead or wrong links). Interface language is English.

Account Restrictions

Bronze member can send not more than 100 currency units (USD, GBP, EUR).

Individuals are restricted to a maximum of 90 currency units in their account at anyone time due to the European E-money directive of Oct 2002. If a member requires more she needs to upgrade free of charge to merchant account.

Silver and Gold members can spend with PPPay:

Account features

Instant Payments — immediate payment to reliable recepient.

Escrow Payments — money held by a third party until the conditions of an agreement are met, e.g. pending the completion of a purchase, the payment for the goods will be held in escrow.

Availability

The service is available for individuals from Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Holland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and United States.

Fees

Keeping funds in account, their instant sending, recieving and exchanging from one currency to another are FREE. For escrow services a 0.99 fee is charged (either USD, or GBP, or EUR) paid by sender.

Member can fund her account or make payments from debit and credit cards with PPPay — fee depends on transaction amount:

Recieving funds to debit card in GBP is free of charge, for others a 1.95% fee applies (i.e. GBP to credit card and USD, EUR to all types of cards).

OutExchange is provided only to member's bank account and is charged 1% with minimum of 0.69GBP, 5EUR or 1.25USD.

PPPay provides to checkout systems for accepting payments at web site:

Basic Checkout system is a simpler checkout format available to Silver members. There are no facilities for multiple products, no facilities for multiple quantities, and no access to the PPPay.com CBS (CallBackSystem)

Full Checkout system allows payments for multiple items, product ids, multiple quantities of each item and also optional shipping costs to be added to the pricing. Full Checkout also has the option of the PPPay.com CBS allowing for callbacks to member's shopping cart software notifying member of successful or failed payment attempts for updating records and databases in real time. The Full Checkout is available to Gold members only.
